Rural restaurant: A PLACE WHERE YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE WHAT WE EAT

 
♥ The bar service and the Market resale with bakery products will be available from the middle of April to the end of October.

♥ The Restaurant, being an open-air venue, is open for meals, baked goods and farm-made gelato from mid-May until approximately mid-October (subject to unpredictable weather conditions).

♥ Located at the centre of the mansion Orti di Mare, the rural restaurant and market-café overlooks the countryside of Lacona and the surrounding hillside amphitheatre. It is open every day, with non-stop opening hours, from around mid-April or the last week of April until approximately mid-October (subject to unpredictable weather conditions). Table reservations are not accepted for lunch or dinner.
N.B. If you specifically wish to book your stay at Orti di Mare in order to enjoy the Ristoro Rurale, please contact the Reception by e-mail to find out the exact opening date.

♥ In this simple, outdoor sitting room, shaded by large pergolas and surrounded by olive trees, you can enjoy tasty, genuine, healthy dishes of the local tradition, including vegan ones, prepared with whole ingredients and plenty of vegetables. Our original range of quality desserts and farmer ice creams is renowned for the refinement and selection or raw ingredients.

♥ While seated at a table or laid on a hammock, here you can enjoy a book or surf the internet (thanks to the free wifi connection); you can flirt with the table neighbour; you can meditate; you can sip pleasant hot or cold drinks.

♥ You’re welcome for breakfast, for lunch, for a genuine snack, for a tasty home-made ice cream, or just do buy the products of our vegetable garden. We’re open everyday no-stop from mid-April till the end of October.

♥ The Convivium is enriched by a reading lounge with library, a dance floor a playground for kids and a relax area with solarium, equipped with sun loungers, and an info point dense with photographs and descriptions of the flora, minerals, environments, sea and other aspects of Elba Island, and in-depth information about the Estate and its natural environment.

Jams

Genuine homemade jams

Lemons, strawberries, figs, blackberries and blood oranges are turned into jams using traditional methods, without the aid of machinery.

Once the right consistency is achieved, the jams are bottled without the addition of pectin or other thickeners. We use only organic sugar in their preparation.

Bread

Selected ingredients, simple and rich flavours

Leavened with sourdough and baked with wood from pruned olive trees and vineyards, which add aroma to the product, Orti di Mare bread is as good as bread can be.

We make Tuscan bread, wholemeal multigrain and thousand-seed bread, with hazelnuts and raisins, with olives; and also unleavened pizzas, savoury pies with vegetables from the garden; simple and healthy desserts: the typical schiaccia ‘briaca, cantuccini, biscuits, vegan cakes, tarts…

Vegetables and fruit

Live from the organic garden

They are harvested when fully ripe, bursting with flavour and vitamins. Vegetables, fruit and berries, from blackberries to tomatoes, are grown organically and have an unrivalled taste. Made with love, they have sunshine inside.

Extra virgin olive oil

Leccino and Frantoio varieties

No pesticides or synthetic fertilisers, early olive harvesting carried out by hand, very low yield: this is the secret of our excellent oil.

Aleatico

A wine for meditation

A precious nectar to be enjoyed at the end of a meal, Aleatico is also perfect with dessert. Its intense colour and bouquet are the distillation of dazzling light, abundant winds and mineral scents, gathered and concentrated through manual processing handed down through family traditions.

We call it farm-made ice cream because it really is homemade. We have combined the refreshing freshness of ice cream with the best of what we grow on the estate to offer you flavours that will amaze you: myrtle, Aleatico wine, olive oil, strawberry, blackberry, mint, lemon, lavender, helichrysum… Our ice cream tells the story of this land, cultivated with dedication, where everything grows luxuriantly but requires a lot of commitment and constant care.
